Mayamba Football Academy: “Football as a Pathway to the Future”

Next to the community center and the health center, the construction of two changing rooms is planned. These facilities will support local sports activities and provide a proper base for the teams that train and play here.

The entire area will be enclosed by a perimeter wall, enabling the local football club — which plays an important regional role — to participate in official matches organized by the Gambia Football Federation (GFF).

Education and sports (movement and play) are essential elements in the lives of young people as they grow into responsible and resilient adults. We believe that sport can play a leading role in this development. Sport connects people, fosters unity, and encourages mutual understanding and respect — all of which contribute to a more balanced society.

Taking part in team sports means working together, winning together, losing together, overcoming setbacks, and celebrating victories as one. It also means participating in society. The more people who take part, the healthier the community becomes.

The construction of the changing rooms, together with the wall surrounding the pitch, will be addressed at a later stage of the project (Phase 2 or Phase 3).
