OUR VISION

We believe in the development of many African countries, and we believe in the potential of the people of Gambia. In Gambian communities, just as many talents are born as in neighborhoods in the Netherlands—future doctors, dancers, nurses, mechanics, and just as many talented football players. But we also believe that these talents may still need some support for now. And that is what we want to provide—through projects and programs, through relationships and sponsors.

We strive to ensure that the youth of Gambia do not feel compelled to cross the Mediterranean Sea in fragile boats, but instead can build a sustainable future in Gambia.

WHERE WE WORK

Our work takes place within local communities in the neighborhoods and villages of Gambia. For the school project, our focus is on Latri Ya, Brufut, and Sukuta. Other ongoing projects also receive our attention.

The Mayamba project, as a new initiative, will receive additional focus in the coming period. Mayamba is located on the North Bank, and we also focus on the surrounding area of the village. We work together with local community representatives, the VDC (Village Development Committee), the Alkala, the village council, and others, including sports trainers and mentors.

OUR APPROACH

Through projects and initiatives discussed with the local community, we explore how these can be realized. This begins with the question: “What can you do yourselves?”, followed by: “What do you need from us?” and “How can we make this a reality together?”

Within our foundation, several projects are currently ongoing and being implemented. Examples of these can be found elsewhere on the website.
